Basketball Game Preview: Phillips Wildcats vs. Westinghouse Warriors

The Phillips Wildcats and the Westinghouse Warriors will compete for holiday cheer at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Phillips' favor as the team sits on ten straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Westinghouse has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

Last Thursday, Phillips lost to Lane Tech on the road by a 71-52 margin.

Despite the defeat, Phillips saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Messiah Horton posted 20 points. Another player making a difference was Denari Stewart, who had nine points.

Meanwhile, Westinghouse had to suffer through a 65-33 loss at the hands of Curie.

Phillips' loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Westinghouse, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Phillips didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Westinghouse in their previous meeting back in February, but they still walked away with a 59-53 victory. Will Phillips repeat their success, or does Westinghouse have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
