Baseball Game Preview: Temecula Valley Golden Bears vs. Chaparral Pumas

For the second straight game, Temecula Valley will face off against Chaparral. The Golden Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Pumas at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Temecula Valley took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They came out on top against Chaparral by a score of 6-1.

Chase Hilt was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits (and not a single walk). Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. He has become a key player for Temecula Valley: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-7 otherwise.

In other batting news, Isiah Rauseo was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Will Bandel was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

With the loss, Chaparral broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-4. As for Temecula Valley, their record now sits at 9-7.
