Basketball Recap: Neches Takes a Loss

Neches lost against Slocum back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Neches Tigers had to suffer through a 55-14 loss at the hands of the Slocum Mustangs. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-8.

Neches' loss dropped their record down to 15-14. As for Slocum, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 20-11 record this season.

Looking ahead, Neches will head out to face off against Coolidge at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Slocum, they will take on Oakwood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Oakwood has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with eight straight defeats, while Slocum will come in with three straight victories.
