Football Game Preview: Pella Dutch vs. Grinnell Tigers

The Pella Dutch will head out to face off against the Grinnell Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pella knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Grinnell likes a good challenge.

On Friday, everything came up roses for Pella against Clear Creek-Amana as the squad secured a 44-7 win. The victory continues a trend for the Dutch in their matchups with the Clippers: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Grinnell duked it out with Newton on Friday. The Tigers took a blow against the Cardinals, falling 35-7. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa football rankings (they are ranked 115th, while the Cardinals are ranked 20th).

With the loss, Grinnell broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-4. As for Pella, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.

Pella came up short against Grinnell in their previous meeting back in October of 2020, falling 6-0. Can the Dutch avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
