Baseball Recap: Lakewood Ranch Takes a Loss

Lakewood Ranch came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 10-0 to the Charlotte Fightin' Tarpons. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Mustangs were not able to get on the board.

Lakewood Ranch has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. Charlotte is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Lakewood Ranch will head out on the road to square off against South Fort Myers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Charlotte, they will welcome Cypress Lake at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Charlotte's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Cypress Lake's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
