Football Recap: Wapello Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Wapello waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Columbus Wildcats by a score of 40-27. This was payback for the Indians, who suffered a 51-14 loss the last time these two teams met.

Wapello's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Columbus, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4-1.

Looking ahead, Wapello will venture away from home to face off against Van Buren County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.6 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Columbus, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Pekin on the 17th.
