Softball Recap: Genoa Area Comets vs. Fostoria Redmen
Genoa Area proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by six) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 16-15 victory over the Fostoria Redmen. With that win, the Comets brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.
Genoa Area got a massive performance out of Mya Colvin, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Those three runs gave Colvin a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emersen Bickel, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Genoa Area kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
