Volleyball Game Preview: South Harrison Hawks vs. Clay County Panthers

The South Harrison Hawks will venture away from home to face off against the Clay County Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

South Harrison is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Williamstown just ended the team's four-match winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against the Yellowjackets, falling 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-19, 25-15.

Despite the defeat, South Harrison saw an underclassman step up: freshman Sophia Cale had 17 digs and one assist. Those 17 digs set a new season-high mark for Cale.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Clay County faced off against Nitro on Thursday. The Panthers fell 2-0 to the Wildcats.

The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-15.

Clay County's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for South Harrison, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6.

South Harrison couldn't quite get it done against Clay County when the teams last played back in October of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
