Baseball Recap: Mossyrock Triumphs

Mossyrock and Onalaska pushed the score to 17-10 the last time they played Onalaska, but on Monday defenses reigned supreme. The Vikings sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over the Loggers. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Loggers: they've now won three in a row.

Waylen Huguenin made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, Kevin Mitchell was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one double.

Mossyrock's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-10. As for Onalaska, their loss dropped their record down to 1-14.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Loggers beat Mossyrock by a score of 17-3 on Wednesday.
