The Porter Ridge Pirates had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They strolled past Cuthbertson with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 59-44. The victory was just what Porter Ridge needed coming off of a 85-51 defeat in their prior game.

Samaj Long continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 15 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Conroy, who scored 11 points along with two steals.

Porter Ridge's win bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Cuthbertson, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Porter Ridge will square off against Sun Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Sun Valley and Porter Ridge are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. Cuthbertson on the road again on Friday and play against Ardrey Kell at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Ardrey Kell focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Wednesday.
