Softball Recap: North Mac Takes a Loss

North Mac was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They came up short against the Southwestern Piasa Birds, falling 18-3. The Panthers were not able to make up for their loss to the Piasa Birds from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

North Mac saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lennox Wiseman, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that Wiseman launched this season.

North Mac's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Southwestern, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3-1 record this season.

North Mac and Southwestern could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Panthers will square off against Pittsfield at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (468 vs. 139). Meanwhile, Southwestern (ranked 218th) will meet Quincy Notre Dame (ranked 43rd) at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
