Basketball Recap: Boston English Takes a Loss

Boston English lost against New Bedford back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Boston English Eagles fell just short of the New Bedford Whalers by a score of 67-65. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 156th, while the Whalers are ranked 34th).

Boston English dropped their record down to 7-9 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for New Bedford, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Boston English will challenge Burke at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for New Bedford, they will venture away from home to square off against Bridgewater-Raynham at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Bridgewater-Raynham has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
