Basketball Recap: St. Joseph Starts off Right with Win over Valley Springs

St. Joseph took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Valley Springs Tigers 55-53. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row dating back to last season.

This is the second loss in a row for Valley Springs and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Joseph will welcome Ozark Catholic Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Valley Springs, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Jasper at 7:30 p.m. on November 4. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Pirates have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
