Basketball Recap: Victor Comes Up Short

Victor lost to Penfield back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Blue Devils fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 47-44. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 174th, while the Patriots are ranked 45th).

This is the second loss in a row for Victor and nudges their season record down to 5-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 18-1 Webster Schroeder (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 92.8% over those games). As for Penfield, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-2 record this season.

Victor does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Penfield, they will face off against Webster Schroeder at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
