Baseball Recap: Wellsville Takes a Loss

Wellsville managed to slip by Catholic Central the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Tigers lost 12-4 to the Crusaders on Thursday. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Crusaders earlier this season, when they won 8-7.

Wellsville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Ramsey, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. Austin Watkins was another, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Wellsville has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season. As for Catholic Central, the victory snapped their losing streak at eight games and leaves them with a 3-8 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wellsville will take on United at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Eagles will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Catholic Central, they will square off against Oak Glen at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
