Recap: Vista PEAK Prep Bison vs. Rangeview Raiders
The Vista PEAK Prep Bison entered their tilt with the Rangeview Raiders with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Vista PEAK Prep came out on top against Rangeview by a score of 47-40 on Friday. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Vista PEAK Prep has scored all season.
Vista PEAK Prep had a senior duo take command as Alante Monroe-Elazier scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals and Kyree Polk scored five points along with nine rebounds and three blocks. Polk is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Julian Carrizales, who scored five points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Rangeview still got an impressive performance from Kenny Black-Knox, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Black-Knox hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Allen Ervin, who scored seven points.
Vista PEAK Prep's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 24.75 points. As for Rangeview, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
Vista PEAK Prep will head out on the road to face off against Denver South at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Denver South focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Friday. As for Rangeview, they will be playing at home against Hinkley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
