Woods Cross faced Skyline in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Wildcats walked away with a 3-1 win over the Eagles. Winning may never get old, but the Wildcats sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-27, 28-26, 25-16.

Avery Poulton paced Woods Cross' offense, picking up 22 kills. Poulton got some help from Zamari Christensen and her 50 assists. Brylee Howard controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Skyline's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Maya Grant, who had 13 digs and one assist, and Ella'Lin West, who had 11 digs. Grant has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last seven times she's played.

Woods Cross' victory bumped their record up to 14-1. As for Skyline, the defeat snapped their winning streak at eight games and leaves them with a 12-4 record.

Woods Cross has already played their next match (against Bountiful), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Skyline, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Alta on the 23rd.
