Basketball Recap: Grace Christian Extends Road Winning Streak to Three

Grace Christian had won two straight road games and Jordan Speller did her part to make it three on Saturday. The Grace Christian Crusaders blew past the Wayne Preparatory Academy Generals 79-22 thanks in part to Speller, who dropped a triple-double on 16 points, 12 assists, and ten steals. She has become a key player for Grace Christian: the team is 9-2 when she posts at least five steals, but 1-2 otherwise.

Another player making a difference was Dazaria Smith, who posted six points. That's the most points she has posted since back in February of 2024.

Grace Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Wayne Preparatory Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grace Christian will face off against Wesleyan Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wayne Preparatory Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Oak City Prep at 7:00 p.m.
