Softball Game Preview: Hope Christian Huskies vs. Eldorado Golden Eagles

The Hope Christian Huskies are taking a road trip to face off against the Eldorado Golden Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eldorado took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Hope Christian, who comes in off a win.

Eldorado will be up against a hot Hope Christian team: the squad just extended their winning streak to five. Hope Christian blew past Sandia Prep 15-3 on Thursday. Surprisingly, this marked the eighth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Siena Sturgis was a standout: she scored two runs while going 1-for-2. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella McFadden, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.

Hope Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .609. Their batting average was a full 0 higher than the also-impressive .462 that Sandia Prep posted.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Eldorado and Atrisco Heritage Academy, and Atrisco Heritage Academy kept the tradition alive. Eldorado lost 16-5 to Atrisco Heritage Academy on Saturday.

Hope Christian's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Eldorado, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-2.

Hope Christian beat Eldorado 6-1 in their previous meeting back in March of 2015. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hope Christian since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
