Softball Recap: Gowanda Has No Trouble Against Maple Grove

The Gowanda Panthers got the win against the Maple Grove Red Dragons on Tuesday by a conclusive 14-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Addison Kota was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last eight matches. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and two doubles.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Corrina John, who went 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Holland Browning, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Gowanda's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Maple Grove, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

As of now, neither Gowanda nor the Red Dragons have any future games scheduled.
