Basketball Recap: Makenzie Daubenmire's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Logan over Lancaster

Logan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 52-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lancaster Golden Gales. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chieftains this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-41 back in December of 2024.

Several Chieftains players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Makenzie Daubenmire, who posted 20 points and eight boards. Daubenmire has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last four times she's played. Ella Hinton was another key player, putting up 12 points in addition to six assists and three blocks.

Even though they lost, Logan was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Logan's defeat dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Lancaster, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season.

Logan didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 60-50 loss against Canal Winchester on the 7th. As for Lancaster, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 57-52 defeat against Reynoldsburg on the 7th.
