Football Game Preview: Cincinnati Eagles vs. Illinois C Crusaders

Cincinnati has gone a perfect 4-0 against Illinois C recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Eagles will face off against the Crusaders at 3:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Cincinnati heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Saturday. They came up short against Columbus Crusaders, falling 35-14. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jordan Jacobson, who rushed for 145 yards. He is becoming a predictor of Cincinnati's success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is 6-2 (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Peyton Salyer was in the mix too, providing the Eagles with two TDs.

Meanwhile, Illinois C was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 28-24 to Osceola Grace Eagles. The Crusaders have struggled against the Oscee recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Illinois C now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Cincinnati, their record is now 7-4.

Everything came up roses for Cincinnati against Illinois C when the teams last played back in August of 2023, as the squad secured a 42-0 win. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Crusaders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
