Baseball Recap: Welsh Wins Going Away Against Bell City

Welsh won the last time they faced Bell City and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Greyhounds put the hurt on the Bruins with a sharp 10-0 victory. The Greyhounds not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 13th.

Bell City's batters probably weren't too happy with Cohen Cormier, who pitched a no hitter (he gave up a single walk). Cormier has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Wyatt Kershaw was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ethan Beard, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Welsh always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Welsh and bumps their season record up to 18-10. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Bell City, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-15.

Coming up, Welsh will square off against Northside Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Greyhounds are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Bell City, they will take on Grand Lake at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something the Bruins surely won't give up without a fight.
