Volleyball Game Preview: Darien Blue Wave vs. Ludlowe Falcons

Darien is a perfect 4-0 against Ludlowe since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Blue Wave will host the Falcons at 4:00 p.m. Ludlowe took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Darien, who comes in off a win.

On Monday, Darien made easy work of Danbury and carried off a 3-0 victory. The Blue Wave haven't had any issues with the Hatters recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

While Darien won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-20, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Ludlowe came up short against Norwalk on Friday and fell 3-1.

Ludlowe started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-20, 25-14, 25-21.

Darien will need to focus on slowing down Guy Julavits, one of several Ludlowe players who made an impact when they last played. He had 11 digs.

Darien's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Ludlowe, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.

Darien took their win against Ludlowe in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Blue Wave have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
