Mingus is 2-8 against Prescott since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Marauders will host the Badgers at 3:45 p.m. Mingus is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Mingus' offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mica Mountain on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Marauders' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Prescott unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Flagstaff by a score of 7-6.

Prescott got a good showing from Parker Reed, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Reed has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lucas Tobin was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Nick Martin was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs.

Prescott's defeat dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Mingus, their loss dropped their record down to 8-14-1.

Mingus couldn't quite finish off Prescott in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can the Marauders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
