Basketball Game Preview: Lone Peak Knights vs. Syracuse Titans

Lone Peak is a perfect 3-0 against Syracuse since December of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Knights will head out to take on the Titans at 5:15 p.m. Lone Peak is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.

Lone Peak is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Lehi, who was ranked 25th at the time (Lone Peak was ranked sixth). The Knights managed a 48-43 victory over the Pioneers on Tuesday.

Lone Peak found their leader in freshman Peyton Warner, who went 10-for-20 to rack up 27 points and three steals. Warner is becoming a predictor of the Knights' success: when she posts at least 15 points the team is 3-1 (and 6-8 when she doesn't). Another player making a difference was Lave Holdcraft, who posted seven points and 14 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Syracuse posted their closest win since February 7, 2025 on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Davis 43-41. The win continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Darts: they've now won three in a row.

The victory got Lone Peak back to even at 9-9. As for Syracuse, their win bumped their record up to 13-4.

Everything went Lone Peak's way against Syracuse in their previous matchup back in February of 2025, as Lone Peak made off with a 56-30 victory. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Titans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
