Basketball Recap: Telfair County Continues Road Dominance on Friday

Telfair County extended their road winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Passion Clay. The Telfair County Trojans blew past the Treutlen Vikings 56-33 on Friday thanks in part to Clay, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last five games she's played.

Another player making a difference was Trynitee Newson, who posted six points in addition to nine rebounds and four steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in January of 2024.

Telfair County's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Treutlen, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.

Telfair County and Wheeler County will face off at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Telfair County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.3 points per game this season. As for Treutlen, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Montgomery County at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Treutlen is facing Montgomery County at the right time seeing as Montgomery County is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
