Baseball Recap: Catholic Central Extends Winning Streak to Three

Catholic Central barely beat Greenon the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Irish were the clear victors by an 18-3 margin over the Knights on Thursday. The win was just business as usual for the Irish, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Brody Adams made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk). Adams was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with six RBI, three runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Catholic Central got a massive performance out of Berkeley Little, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-6. Little is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Aleec Tackett was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Catholic Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greenon only managed six hits.

Catholic Central's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Greenon, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Catholic Central will face off against Mechanicsburg at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians' pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so the Irish's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Greenon, they will head out to take on Northeastern at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
