Softball Recap: Napoleon Triumphs

It was a proper cat-fight when Napoleon faced off against Southview on Monday. The Wildcats walked away with a 10-5 win over the Cougars. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Cougars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2025.

Kendall Horner (2026) made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. Those 13 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, Faith Rubinstein (2026) was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Anika McCorkle (2026) was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

The win got Napoleon back to even at 11-11. As for Southview, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.

Coincidentally, Napoleon and Southview will both be playing Bowling Green the next time they take the field. The Wildcats will host the Bobcats at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Cougars will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
