Softball Recap: Roseville Takes a Loss

Roseville had lost seven straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 5-13 to make it eight. They fell 8-5 to the Irondale Knights. The Raiders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Knights earlier this season, when they won 12-0.

As for Irondale, they moved to 3-16 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak. The game was the first time they have beaten Roseville on their field since May 1, 2023.

For Irondale's part, Annalise Foley spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five runs (all of which were unearned) on seven hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Foley.

At the plate, Archer Norman was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Maria Walsh was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

As of now, neither Roseville nor Irondale have any future games scheduled.
