Baseball Recap: McEwen Comes Up Short

McEwen couldn't beat Unicoi County on Thursday even though they stacked six runs on them in the fourth inning. The Warriors fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 10-9. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ben McPherson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Mason Oliphant, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

McEwen's loss dropped their record down to 4-3-1. As for Unicoi County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

McEwen has already played their next contest, a 16-0 defeat against Sevier County on the 19th. As for Unicoi County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Dobyns-Bennett at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
