The Florence-Carlton Falcons will square off against the Loyola-Sacred Heart Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Florence-Carlton's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Anaconda 35-0. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Copperheads recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Florence-Carlton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brody Duchien, who rushed for 50 yards and two scores, and also threw for 153 yards and one touchdown while completing 73.7% of his passes. Another rusher making a difference was Mattix Chase, who rushed for 130 yards and one TD.
Florence-Carlton's run defense was locked in: Anaconda could only muster 3.2 yards per carry. The team can thank Christian Englund for the heroic effort on defense: he. Florence-Carlton's defense didn't let Travis Dye, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. In that department, Englund was the leader with two. Englund is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least eight every time he's taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Loyola-Sacred Heart, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They blew past Thompson Falls 41-14 on Friday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Rams considering their seven-point performance the contest before.
Florence-Carlton better keep an eye on Andrew Richardson. He was instrumental in Loyola-Sacred Heart's win, rushing for 73 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only seven carries, while also throwing for 87 yards and one TD while completing 75% of his passes. Richardson's passing game has become a key predictor of the Rams' success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-4 otherwise. Owen Felton was another key player, gaining 78 total yards and two touchdowns.
Florence-Carlton now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Loyola-Sacred Heart, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
