Basketball Recap: Shelbyville Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Shelbyville waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victor by a 62-42 margin over the Pendleton Heights Arabians. The Golden Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Shelbyville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mar Nicholson, who went 6 for 9 en route to 18 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Caden Claxton, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 14 points along with seven boards and five assists.

Several Arabians players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joseph Estes, who posted 12 points. Evan Mozingo was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Shelbyville is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Pendleton Heights, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shelbyville will challenge Franklin Community at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Franklin Community has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Pendleton Heights, they will take on Delta at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
