It was a good run, but Scotch Plains-Fanwood unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Saturday. They lost 79-56 to the Union Catholic Vikings. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while the Vikings are ranked fifth).

Scotch Plains-Fanwood's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4. As for Union Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Scotch Plains-Fanwood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 62-44 win against Summit on the 21st. Union Catholic has also already played their next game, an 88-71 victory against Linden on the 19th.
