Football Recap: Fontana Takes a Loss

There was early excitement for Fontana after they claimed the first score on Friday, but it was El Rancho who ended up claiming the real prize. The Steelers fell 27-17 to the Dons. While the Steelers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Dons 7-0 in the first quarter.

Ivan Del Villar threw for 153 yards and one touchdown. Akari Augustine was his top target, picking up 78 receiving yards and one TD. On the ground, Sebastian Celedonio rushed for 75 yards.

Braylon Morrison was his usual excellent self, rushing for 177 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.4 yards per carry for El Rancho. With that strong performance, Morrison is now averaging an impressive 114 rushing yards per game.

Fontana's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for El Rancho, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Fontana and El Rancho will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Steelers see the field they'll take on Rialto at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. As for El Rancho, their break will end when they face La Serna at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
