Football Game Preview: Ithaca Yellowjackets vs. Pewamo-Westphalia Pirates + How To Watch

The Ithaca Yellowjackets will face off against the Pewamo-Westphalia Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Ithaca is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 22-21 win over Laker. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Yellowjackets.

Gibson Rondy had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 182 yards and a pair of TDs, while also throwing for 201 yards and one touchdown. What's more, he posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in September.

Rondy was just one part of a punishing run game: Ithaca was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 201 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Pewamo-Westphalia was fully in charge on Saturday, breezing past North Muskegon 56-28. Fans of the Pirates have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Ithaca's record is now 8-3. As for Pewamo-Westphalia, their record now sits at 10-0.

Ithaca couldn't quite finish off Pewamo-Westphalia in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 and fell 17-14. Can the Yellowjackets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
