Jude Hernandez Drops League-Best Effort on Friday
Starting off the list is Calallen's Jude Hernandez, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Hernandez rushed for 38 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 32 receiving yards.
Tuloso-Midway had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Hernandez it was a similar story. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Hernandez saw the Warriors & Cherokees), he rushed for 109 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries.

Rene Rivera Jr Delivers Electric Effort Vs Hidalgo
Rene Rivera Jr's big game helped extend Zapata's winning streak to three on Friday. Rivera Jr did his part (and then some), making eight total tackles and defending two passes in addition to snagging three interceptions for the 'W'. He is on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made eight or more in the last three games he's played dating back to last season.
Zapata's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Rivera Jr and Zapata will square off against Calallen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

A Season-Best Effort from Robert Gallegos Leads Hidalgo over Zapata
Sadly, Robert Gallegos posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Hidalgo over Zapata on Friday. Gallegos rushed for 138 yards and a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.
Hidalgo dropped their record down to 1-7 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Gallegos and Hidalgo will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Calallen at 7:00 p.m. on November 1st.

Dennis Made His Presence Known in Calallen's 35-14 Win
Sebastian Dennis put up the most rushing yards he's had since back in August on Friday. He rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 77 yards and a touchdown on perfect 5-for-5 passing.
This year, Dennis has thrown 6 touchdowns while averaging 71.4 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 28.86 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 65 rushing yards.

Ricardo Rodr?guez's Big Game Leads Calallen over Tuloso-Midway
Another Calallen player making an appearance on this list is Ricardo Rodr?guez. He rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 56 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
