Softball Recap: Dracut Triumphs

Dracut's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Lowell Red Raiders 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Middies have posted since May 12, 2025.

Ashley Anderson made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Those two hits gave her a new career-high.

Anderson wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Azaria Lopez, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Lopez a new career-high.

Dracut moved to 2-11-2 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Lowell, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dracut will head out to challenge Andover at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lowell, they will venture away from home to square off against Haverhill at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
