Softball Recap: Nova Takes a Loss

Nova had lost four straight at home dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped down to 0-4 to make it five. They lost 19-3 to the Chaminade-Madonna Lions. If the Titans were looking for revenge after losing 16-6 to the Lions when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Chaminade-Madonna, they now have a winning record of 3-2. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 8.6 runs per game.

For Chaminade-Madonna's part, Isabel Blanco made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Blanco was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, Chaminade-Madonna got a massive performance out of Raegan Tortorici, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Tortorici a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Eva Rivera, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Coming up, Nova will be playing in front of their home fans against Piper at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bengals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.4 runs per game on average), something the Titans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Chaminade-Madonna, they will face off against West Broward at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
