Basketball Recap: Giddings Comes Up Short

Giddings was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were one points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 41-40 heartbreaker at the hands of the Granger Lions. While losing is never fun, the Buffaloes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1238th, while the Lions are ranked 601st).

Giddings' defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Granger, their win bumped their record up to 16-6.

Giddings will finish 2024 at home by hosting Columbus at 11:15 a.m. on Monday. As for Granger, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Granger Lions challenge the Rosebud-Lott Cougars at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rosebud-Lott's defense has only allowed 29.2 points per game this season, so Granger's offense will have their work cut out for them.
