Recap: Cascade Champions vs. Marion County Warriors
On Friday, Cascade was beaten by Marion County 42-9. Cascade was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-3.
Marion County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was EJ Wilson, who rushed for 68 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. Marion County also got a significant boost from Brody Leonard, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 102 yards.
Cascade's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 5-5. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.7 points per game. As for Marion County, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Cascade is on the road again on Friday and play against East Robertson at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. East Robertson knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Cascade likes a good challenge. As for Marion County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Westmoreland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Westmoreland is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
