Basketball Game Preview: East Hardy Cougars vs. Tucker County Mountain Lions

East Hardy hasn't had much luck against Tucker County recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The East Hardy Cougars will take on the Tucker County Mountain Lions at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

East Hardy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 42-32 win over Tygarts Valley. The victory was some much needed relief for the Cougars as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

It was another big night for Brooklynn Tinnell, who posted 25 points and five steals. Her evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Miller, who put up seven points in addition to ten boards and four steals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tucker County). They blew past Harman, posting a 76-8 win. The Mountain Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 20 points or more this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Tucker County and bumps their season record up to 15-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.5 points on average over those games. As for East Hardy, their record now sits at 10-11.

East Hardy might still be hurting after the 59-39 loss they got from Tucker County in their previous matchup back in January. Can East Hardy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
