Basketball Recap: Fremont Takes a Loss

Fremont lost against Columbus back in January of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Fremont Tigers received a blow as they fell 48-33 to the Columbus Discoverers.

When it comes to explaining why Fremont lost, don't look at Jenna McClain. Despite the final result, she went 8-for-18 to rack up 21 points and six boards. McClain's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Diers, who posted eight points.

Fremont has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. As for Columbus, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-10.

Fremont wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 52-34 loss against Lincoln Northeast on the 15th. As for Columbus, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 29-26 defeat against Lincoln East on the 15th.
