Hearne had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They blew past the Burton Panthers, posting a 76-29 victory. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Hearne got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Zayden Mercer out in front who posted 14 points and six steals. Mercer continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kellen Bowser, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards.

Hearne smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 38 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 24 consecutive contests.

Hearne's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-4. As for Burton, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-12.

Hearne wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 70-33 win against Snook on the 24th. As for Burton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 65-58 victory against Iola on the 24th.
