Basketball Game Preview: Crestwood Red Devils vs. Garfield G-Men

The Crestwood Red Devils will be taking part in a tournament against the Garfield G-Men at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Crestwood has given up an average of 59.9 points per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Crestwood is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Coventry just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Friday. They lost to the Comets on the road by a 71-53 margin.

Meanwhile, Garfield ended up a good deal behind Southeast on Friday and lost 79-61. While losing is never fun, the G-Men can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 737th, while the Pirates are ranked 357th).

Crestwood will need to focus on slowing down Collin McGranahan, one of several Garfield players who made an impact when they last played. He shot 50% from the field on his way to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cam Chapman, who posted 12 points.

Garfield's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Crestwood, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11.

Crestwood didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Garfield in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 61-57 victory. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the G-Men have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
