Soccer Game Preview: Hanks vs. El Dorado

The Hanks Knights will take on the El Dorado Aztecs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hanks has given up an average of 3 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Hanks came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 8-0 to Del Valle. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Knights haven't been shut out since back in January.

Meanwhile, El Dorado waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their defense stepped up to hand the Matadors a 3-0 shutout. The Aztecs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by three goals or more this season.

Sofia Rodriguez was the driving force of El Dorado's attack as she scored all three of El Dorado's goals, bringing her season total up to 16 goals.

Hanks' loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-10. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored nine goals over those three contests. As for El Dorado, their victory bumped their record up to 8-11.
