Basketball Recap: Central Takes a Loss

Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 67-30 loss at the hands of the Farmington Knights. The contest marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Central saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kayden Kirn shot 46% from the field en route to 14 points and three steals. Kirn has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Emma Broeckiling also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Farmington, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central will square off against Poplar Bluff at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Farmington, they will take on Dexter at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
