Softball Recap: Santa Rosa Lions vs. Mora Rangers/Rangerettes
Santa Rosa extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 10-12 in the process. They fell 16-12 to the Mora Rangers/Rangerettes. Even if the Lions couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
Kaidyn Chavez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Angelina Silva, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
As for Mora, the victory (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 20-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.3 runs over those games.
On Mora's side, Jazzlyn Duran was excellent, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI Duran has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Janelle Torres, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
As of now, neither Santa Rosa nor Mora have any future games scheduled.
