Softball Recap: Eastern Randolph Takes a Loss

Eastern Randolph lost against Wheatmore back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Wildcats lost 17-11 to the Warriors. The Wildcats just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Wynne Bartholow and Shelby Williams did some serious damage despite the final result: Bartholow scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Williams scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Bartholow also put up an RBI, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Amanda Crabtree, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Eastern Randolph's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Wheatmore, they moved to 7-12 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Eastern Randolph and Wheatmore will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Wildcats see the field they'll take on Southwestern Randolph at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Wheatmore, their break will end when they face Southeast Guilford at 6:00 p.m. on the 23rd.
