Baseball Game Preview: Anson Bearcats vs. Cheraw Braves

The Anson Bearcats will venture away from home to square off against the Cheraw Braves at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cheraw took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Anson, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Anson got the win against Forest Hills by a conclusive 9-3.

Meanwhile, while it was Cheraw who put the first runs on the board on Tuesday, it was Trinity Collegiate who put up more. The Braves came up short against the Titans, falling 13-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Braves have suffered since March 10th.

Anthony Strong made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Nick Gordon, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Anson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.6 runs over those games. As for Cheraw, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-13.

Anson skirted past Cheraw 5-4 in their previous matchup on Wednesday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bearcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
